Effect Of Naturopathy Treatments And Exercises on Cervical Spondylosis

Cervical Spondylosis is a disorder of cervical vertebrae. It is a specific form of arthritis, which attacks vertebrae and connecting bony, and ligament structures, is known as Spondylosis. Frequently it occurs in the cervical vertebrae. In ayurveda this condition is known as Griva Sandhigata Vata.

Ayurveda understands the functioning of the body as comprising of three basic functions, the three doshas vata, pitta & kapha.

The main symptoms of Cervical Spondylosis are –

  1. Stress over neck, head, shoulders and upper part of the back
  2. Pain and heaviness in the neck, head, shoulders and upper part of the back
  3. Vertigo
  4. Feeling of pain and stiffness while moving the neck

The next very important question is WHAT CAUSES CERVICAL SPONDYLOSIS

  1. Sitting for long hours in front of the laptop without taking enough breaks strains the neck, head, shoulders and upper part of the spine.
  2. Improper lifting of weights or accident causing neck injuries can lead to cervical
  3. Family history of cervical
  4. Working under stressful conditions
  5. Driving for long hours everyday
  6. Smoking, obesity and sedentary lifestyle

How does NATUROPATHY help Cervical Spondylosis?

Naturopathy Treatment

Naturopathy treatment includes diet therapy, yoga therapy, meditation and more. It also includes Hydrotherapy treatment in which the patient is given how at cold bath.

Mud Pack Therapy is given on the neck to relax stiff muscles. It is very important to understand if the patient has clear bowels. Enema is given incase the bowels are not clear.

Physiotherapy is advised by the practitioner in case of no relief from the pain. The patient are advised not to sleep on thick mattress and sleep without pillow. It is recommended to sleep on hard bed with a mattress of 1/2 inches to 1 inches of thickness.

It is very important to maintain a good posture. Always make sure the spine is straight while sitting or standing.

De-stress yourself, take out time for yourself, reduce tension and relax by practicing yoga pranayam and meditation.

DIET

While there is no special diets or cure all diet to alleviate spondylitis. A diet rich in vitamins and nutrients that can boost the overall health.

Include green leafy vegetables, fox nuts, raisins, walnuts, multigrain atta (contains soybean, ragi, jowar, bajra). Have healthy fruit diet.

Have balanced and nutritious diet with right intake of calcium, vitamins milk, minerals and protein. Simple and natural is healthy. Even after returning to normal diet, food should be light and satwik.
